I've been getting back into gmax recently and after getting bored making regular lightsaber hilts I decided to do some saber pikes like the ones used by the emporer's shadow guards, read about them here if you want Lightsaber pike - Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki

So far I have a regular sith pike: shot0281.jpgshot0288.jpg

And I also made a pike with some bones and teeth on it, I'm thinking of calling it the rancor's claw or something: shot0279.jpgshot0287.jpg

After reading the wiki I suppose I should shorten the blades a little more and widen them out more than usual. Anyone have any ideas/requests for some lightsaber pikes?

Oooh I like the second pike, looks very evil. The saber blades are looking a bit high up on them though, their beam begins a while after they come out the pike.

Looks pretty good, but it doesn't seem to have any smoothing. Did you intend it to be angular or rounded like a cylinder?

Looks impressive...and deadly, I must say.

@Inyri, I did try doing a mesh smoothing modifier in gmax and it looked good and all except at the very tip where the emitter is. It was sort of like it tried to smooth out a flat surface and instead of staying flat like I wanted, it kinda bulged out in a weird way. Although now it occurs to me that I probably could've just applied the modifier, collapsed it, and then edited the vertex to flatten it back out...:uhm:

Ok, so I smoothed them out a little and changed the blades a bit. I'm probably not done with it though, still doesn't look quite right. I'm also working on a force pike so here are some screens of that. And yes I realize that force pikes probably aren't supposed to glow and shoot lightning like that :p
