I think you should just have a zero suit and a power suit no power suit as a vehicle.

It also might be a good idea (I think this might have already been posted, but I am not sure) if you were to start out with the zero suit, and then instead of increasing in the force as you go along, your suit would be upgrading. So at the very start you would have the zero suit, then you would go to a light suit of just some body armor or something, and then as you progess, you would then upgrade to a power suit and the such. I do not know that much about Metroid to fit it in with the story line, but the concept sounds pretty cool. You would also upgrade her blasters and missles as well as time went on.

if you wanted all the jumping and morph ball to work youd have to model the suit and give it a unique skeleton and animation set, refer to the droideka to see what im talkin about.

yeah but you can still make the suit jump, you just define the jump animations by the name of the line, thats how the game recognizes what animation to play when what command is given, if you name your animations right itll do what its supposed to.

jumping is a spin jump (straight up or to the side, depending on direction),

Can't do it, Zem.

yeah but you can still make the suit jump, you just define the jump animations by the name of the line, thats how the game recognizes what animation to play when what command is given, if you name your animations right itll do what its supposed to.

That won't work. The animation will move the model up and back down, but it won't actually jump. It'll look like it's jumping, but the game will still consider the vehicle entity to be at the starting position, and will still register hits and collisions whithin that bounding box (I think that's the right phrase). It's like Tavion's special taunt: You move forward and to the side, but the game doesn't recognize it as actually moving.

And then there's the issue of making it so that you can press a button and make the vehicle jump, which isn't possible. Why? Vehicles aren't made to jump in JKA, just like you aren't meant to have a rewarding experience with JA+.

Our playermodeller would model it, but the thing is hes not sure the difference between regular model and vehicle rigging.

You can rig the model like a normal playermodel. Just set the walk/run animations in the .veh file to the same as the walk/run animations for normal playermodels.

we dotn know hwo to make it so beams come out of the cannon,

You need to have a tag (I think it's a tag) at the the end of the barrel and have the laser set to come from that tag.

you turn into the ball

Can't do it. Yes, tha droideka rolls up, but that's not the same. The pices of the morph ball completely envelope Samus, and as far as I know you never get to see where they come from. You need to have them disappera or compress. Since you can't make them disappear. and making them fold up and retract into the body so they're not visible, you's need a lot of extra bones, and you'd have to spend a lot of time animating it. Even then, it might not work. You can try, but I doubt you'll ever pull it off.

If your modeller can make a morph ball model and animate it so it rolls when it moves, have him send it to me. I think I know to make it work. Only thing is that you wouldn't be able to use it while in the power suit.

Somebody please speak up if I'm wrong on anything, or if I've gotten my terminology confused.
