I was Attempting to do the last part of the simple sword modeling tutorial to UV map and put in game my KotoR style Vibroblade in game, but it turns out it doesn't say how to save UV maps in Gmax, so I was wondering if anyone here knows how? and I was also wondering how to make a weapon to use in SP. What do you mean 'save'? When you export a UV mapped model to md3, the maps are all there.

and put in game my KotoR style Vibroblade in game

Talk to the Department of Redundancy Department.

OK does anyone know the awnser to this question:

I'm doing the (But instead I'm using a Vibroblade) and I'm to this part:

"Now the easiest way to get your UVs exported to a texture so they're useful is to use Texporter (find it in the tutorial sticky). It is a plugin, so if you don't have it yet you'll have to restart Max before it'll be available to you. Once you're ready, click the Utilities tab (the little hammer up with the create/modify tabs - I didn't list it in the key, but I'm confident you can find it). Under utilities there is a button labeled More, and a button labaled Sets. Next to that is a button with a weird little thing on it that my eyes are not good enough to make out. Click it. At the bottom you'll find Texporter, which you can then drag over to the right to add to your utilities list. It will then show up in the rollout."

But Gmax doesn't use plugins, so how what do I do if I'm using Gmax?

What I do for that, instead of exporting them, is I open the UV edit window (UV unwrap -> edit), maximize it, then use the 'print screen' button, and paste it into paint.

Don't even mention Paint when it comes to skinning... Download GIMP if you don't have anything better like Photoshop.
