greetings everyone, this is a call for help, and a sort of request. I'mvery new to skinning /modeling and i have an idea for a model. My idea is to make: L Lawliet (Deathnote) into a shell shaded model for JKA .

Is there someone willing to help me out with this project? Or help me to get started ? I got only very few skinning skills, and nothing about shell shaders, but i really think it's a nice idea. Is there anyone that can/wants to help me out? Then post here please Thank you in progress, Mr. L [PS. you can contact me through the forums.]

There is a Master Sticky at the top of this forum that will tell you what you need and how to get started on modelling.

http://forums.filefront.com/sw-jk3-modding-mapping-editing/234876-master-sticky-read-before-posting-contains-tutorials-links-utilities.html

You'll need to start there and ask questions as you get stumped.

If you're expecting people to "help" you with this project by doing the work for you then don't count on it. This communitty is fairly small and would rather people do their own work then just take up any request that is asked.

Side note: it's not "shell" shaded, it's "cell" shaded. Animations were traditionally drawn and painted on clear "cells"; that's where it got its name from.

First things first. Learn how to model humanoids, there're plenty of tutorials on the web. Then learn how to texture your model, the same as for modeling. Finally, when you get to the rigging and exporting stage, come here and check the rigging tutorial for the application you are using. Then, and just then, we can help you sorting out any unexpected trouble you may stumble upon and we'll do it to the best of our habilities.

I don't know if Inyri will allow a reskin, but it's worth a shot.

That's not a bad idea.

I've seen enough of the character to know that L from Roxas wouldn't be that great... Unfortunately, it's prolly your best option, outside of making a new model...

In other news, my hair was like L's hair when I woke up this morning. <.

I know maybe you don't want to become a consumate 3d modeler, but this is why you people only have reskins of reskins of model rips. Nobody seems to care to learn anymore. Back when we started modding for Jedi Outcast there was a healthy competition to see who came up with the best and most innovating 3d model...
