Only one thing, and if you make a version two, PLEASE MAKE CREW QUARTERS O_O, Do so, and the Gods will reward you greatly
I, infact, voted 8/10. That's because the small minuses, doors too small, hard for bots to walk around, etc.
I agree with Averus about the crew-quarters and unlocking those airlock doors.
Finally took a tour last night, love it excellent detail! Are you planning on releasing the shuttles or at least the "Companion" shuttle with its cool interior in future? Perhaps even be able to fly about and dock? I was not too bothered by the cramped quarters and doorways, but a couple of details that would be great is to be able to turn off the white ceiling lights in the center cockpit so one can see out the windows better, more realistic; I don't recall them being that bright. There are no skylight windows in the mess hall although they are visible from the outside; it would be cool to be able to see the stars from in there.
1) No crew quarters. 2) The whole thing is a bit under scale. 3) The dining room is lacking the proper domed roof with the windows.

I'm going to have another shot at the map; a version two if you will. My idea is to do re-model ship to the letter (taking dimensions into account and recreating as much of the ships functionality as possible.) I have gathered a mass of reference material (75-90 images, firefly, serenity e.t.c.) + blueprints which took ages to find. 02_blueprint_cut.jpg You'll notice that I under-scaled the first ship by at least 35-45%, and with a few sources available at the time (not using google enough) I guessed alot of it. 02_actual_serenity.jpg02_old_serenity_2d_view.jpg The proportions are completely wrong as well, forcing me to miss out some vital rooms (crew/passenger quaters/countless hiding places e.t.c.) The actual ship has a neck that extends much further outwards than I first presumed, and protrudes upwards and downwards with more prominence. The engine itself is much, much smaller in relation to the rest of the body whilst the actual thrusters are much, much bigger. There are also shuttle bay entrance rooms that are located to the sides of the kitchen and are also accessible from the cargo bay. I've set out a (very) rough representation of what I think will go where (see 2d and 3d view images.) 02_initial_2d_view.jpg02_initial_3d_view.jpg Of course this will change according to the other areas that I havn't included yet (see blueprints,) but this time around I will try to rely less on my imagination (as I did previously) and more on solid evidence. There is a slight inconsistence between the film version, the tv-version and the official blueprints (re-watch the film and note the length of the first hall against the official blueprints - they simply don't match up.) As a result I'm still fiddling with the dimensions and scale of the thing. My vision for the completed version aside the mass poly count include: - Full 3d internal and external render of the ship as close to perfect as possible (including crew/passenger quaters/armory/bathrooms/escape hatches + and all the things I missed the first time round) - .ase exterior to reduce poly count - Texturing to be based on the film version - Interactive objects/scenarios - The ship to orbit 'Miranda' - Asteroids to orbit also - Rotating skybox - Scripted gravity (I'll talk about that later, I think i've found a method) - Serenity spacesuit skins - Reaver territory on the darker side of the planet - Scipted/moveable shuttles that fly into Reaver territory and land on one of their ships - Destroyable engine that triggers an oxygen leak (where scripting/spacesuits come in) - Openable cargo bay doors + cargo waste hatch - Countless shaders (including bathroom mirrors & camera portals - to contact between cockpit and shuttles [let's hope that misc_portal_surfaces can move...]) - Hundreds of hiding places (i'll try and recreate as many of the storage spaces as possible/allowable - Any other suggestions that are feasible I'll keep you all updated. Let's hope the Q3 engine can handle it. :Puzzled: - Spineless

One word

AS AMAZING AS IT COULD POSSIBLY BE!

Wait, that's more than a word... Hm, no problem, cause that's MORE than a map! :D

Ok, I've finished all of the structural work (as far as needed now) the image below should give a general impression of where the rooms tie into the overall shape of the ship. 02_serenity_progress1.jpg02_serenity_progress2.jpg I'm now going to work on detailing, from the top deck: front to back, then the bottom deck, back to front. I'll hit the cockpit first and the surrounding areas.

Sorry i've been inactive for a while, I visited Center Parks and completed a monsertorous History assignment. Here's the latest update:

I've mapped most of the inside of the cockpit (using basic textures to give you an idea of the brush shapes,) obviously there is a lot more to add (custom shaders and textures) which will happen later on. I'm just trying to get a feel for the thing and render it as accurate as possible.

02_serenity_progress3.jpg02_serenity_progress4.jpg02_serenity_progress5.jpg

I'm pretty sure the scale is up-to-scratch, (perhaps the seating areas are a little further forward than supposed to but that's to compensate for the excessive, 'external' cockpit length.)

The door to the left (facing from outside, in) leads to the front corridor, the door to the right... well i'm not really sure where that goes. It's not featured in the movies or the tv-series, correct me if i'm wrong; all I know is that it is above the armory and below the escape pod. Although there is not a lot of space, any ideas as to what should go in there?
