The shader code isn't exactly the same for Q3 and JKA. Learn from other people's shaders.

I'm not the best person to talk about shaders, (seen some pretty kickass people around here a wille back) but hm, the lines that tutorail show in the shader file look relyable, shouldn't bug, tho, my guess is that maybe it sets the file paths diferent from the ones necessary for JKA.

...Also, Dynamic glow has nothing to do with what you're looking for ;D Dynamic glow is the smooth fading light effect you se around some texture (mostly light sources), light when you look at a bright totally white light and see a small "light fog" around it.

I beleave the glow you're looking should be this: -------------------------- models/players/yourschar/thetexture { { map models/players/yourchar/thetexture rgbGen lightingDiffuse } { map models/players/yourchar/glowngtexture blendfunc add glow rgbGen identityLighting } } ------------------------ this is what should go you your shader file, and your shader file should be in /shaders/ inside the pk3 file.

so, I'd use a diferent texture to set the glow (tga files are big, use 2 jpg files), first "thetexture" is your actual skin, "glowingtexture" would be a new file with a black background and "only" the glowing pieces. a wille back you could see entire mega complex shaders done by hand (without Q3ASE) around here, all pasted in the threads xD (wanted to be one of those guys ;P )

dynamic glow on a model is when you have certain lines that glow, period. and as was stated, quake shading is slightly different then JKA shading so thats why i cant get it to work, i need to get the shading program made for JKA

as soon as i know what its called.

when I said "I'm not the best person to talk about shaders" I meant that i'm nothing compared to some guys that used to write huge amounts of lines for shader files around here ~2 years ago (and it was so cool), I didn't mean I don't know this. What you're looking for is "not" dynamic glow. write a *.shader file with what I posted and it'll work. (trust me, this is like the first basic step to learn shaders... )
