this is my first skin, and i have a problem. i have added NPC support and when i spawn it i looks messed up, also i cant figure out the model scale thing. i used the same model as the jawa and its taller than kyle. also when i go in game and go to the console and type /model alex it looks the same as it does in the attached file. I don't have a clue how to fix this, its my first skin and i cant find any reference to this problem.

Jawa (s) are like children, they have different proportions. Smaller bodies with heads that seem bigger and other stuff like that. If it's at default size, it looks really weird. But onto the solution (I think). I'm not sure but if you have a model scaling program (JK+ or whatever), you can type the model's name and write the size (minimum size is 0.7 and that's a bit smaller than your average jawa). Also, be sure you're on a server that allows it 'cause it can be exploited (Good thing 0.7 is the minimum and no I don't know the max). That's all I can think of at the moment. P.S. Do not under any circumstances RELEASE THE JAWA !!! and no, you're not allowed to release a reborn either... that would anger me, LORD NewbieSkinner !!! <--- and the entire community.

You can't solve the scale issue in MP unless you are on a server rnning a mod to allow scaling (there are some, Forcemod 3 allows it I think, JA+ may do as well) howeveryou can alter the size of an NPC by using the "scale", "height" and "width" lines in the NPC file. Take a look at the jawa.npc file to get the right dimensions.

As for the textures, make sure your images are png, tga or baseline standard jpg files, and their dimensions are powers of 2 (best just to leave them the same size as the base jawa textures). If that's already all right, you may want to double check your file paths in the .skin file.

thanks for the help i fixed the NPC scale. :) and i checked the file paths in the .SKIN file and they were correct but the npcs still come out wrong and if i click the icon in the profile window the skin comes out just fine, but if i change my model in the terminal it has the same look as the NPC's, and the files are all .jpg.

Another thing, make sure they are a power of 2, such as 512x512 or 1024x1024. Maps that aren't a power of 2 crash the game but models give the black and white grid.

Also, you don't happen to have a "customskin" line in the NPC file do you? If you do and it's pointing to something that doesn't exist, this could happen.

i opened the NPC file and checked there's no "customskin" and i checked the file dimensions they are 1024x1024. and if it helps the NPC file is the jawa NPC file i just reworked it according to a tutorial at Jedi Knight Files - NPC Tutorial . ill attach the NPC file in a regular text file and paste it below+

alex { playerModel alex saber single_2 saberColor green weapon WP_SABER scale 75 health 100 saberStyle 1 saberStyle 3 saberStyle 2 snd jedi1 sndcombat jedi1 reactions 3 aim 3 move 3 aggression 3 evasion 2 intelligence 5 rank crewman playerTeam TEAM_PLAYER enemyTeam TEAM_ENEMY class CLASS_JEDI yawspeed 90 walkSpeed 55 runSpeed 150 dismemberProbHead 30 dismemberProbArms 20 dismemberProbLegs 20 dismemberProbHands 20 dismemberProbWaist 20 }

alex_evil { playerModel alex saber single_2 saberColor orange weapon WP_SABER scale 75 health 100 saberStyle 1 saberStyle 3 saberStyle 2 snd jedi1 sndcombat jedi1 reactions 3 aim 3 move 3 aggression 3 evasion 2 intelligence 5 rank crewman playerTeam TEAM_ENEMY enemyTeam TEAM_PLAYER class CLASS_JEDI yawspeed 90 walkSpeed 55 runSpeed 150 dismemberProbHead 30 dismemberProbArms 20 dismemberProbLegs 20 dismemberProbHands 20 dismemberProbWaist 20 }

the NPC works the way it is suppose to besides the skin being messed up.
