mmk, so I got bored of my trigun map, I'll finish it up sometime soon though. But in the mean time I've been making a city! which is all well and good, but what's a city without people right? so I was reskinning the quinlan vos model, and loaded it in to modview. And what do my wondering eyes see!? A whole lot of white extra model parts. Now, I'm planning on making some cyberpunk bounty hunter skins with the extra parts and hair styles, so it should be fun. My problem is "How do I make the white now show up in modview when I don't want it to" it's probably some little button I'm overlooking.
You have to surf off the unneeded/unskinned model parts in the .skin file you're using.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
if by that you mean *off, I have that already and they're still showing up.
edit: Also refreshing the textures gives this amazing message: "Cannot find *off.jpg"

I don't know who released the TRUE original, everyone seems to not be quite sure. I'd sure like to get my hands on it for the maps though.
It's probably confused because you're using .jpg extensions. Change those all to .tga and see if that helps. It's designed to read .tga, which will look for *all* image types, not just targas.
Well, that was worth a shot. Still no cigar though.. I took a screeny of it so you guys can see what's going on more clearly, though I figure you already get the basic idea of it.
Looks like a cross between an angry white jawa, and ice T if you ask me. This isn't the only model\skin file that does it, when I was working on Enzo it did the same thing with the holster when I had it *off'd.
Send me the entire model folder over MSN when you get a chance and I'll take a look at it.
