Do we want a theme of any kind? It can't be too restrictive -- we want people to feel encouraged to participate. Something specific like "weapons from Warhammer" might turn some folks off who don't play that game (as an example).
Rather than a theme for a game, I'd suggest a type of model/weapon. A sword, slingshot, tesla coil/electro-magnetic weapon. Or just weapons from the OT.
What if we could do a list? Pick from the list and watch each person make something different :stalker:
That would work.
So I got to think about what something approachable might be for a theme. How about Star Wars replicas? I think original designs is too challenging for most folks (myself included, probably =p) and everyone here must be at least a little bit of a Star Wars fan.
How about running it from 1st Nov through to 1st Jan? 2 months should be plenty of time for people to learn and work on a model.
1 entry per person, no team-work but having people help you (Not do it for you) is certainly allowed.
Theme: Replicas of Star Wars weapons, including those in the games.
Anything else? Do we want several scoring categories (i.e. advanced category includes shader usage, intermediate category depends more on texture quality, etc)
That'll work. I'm more interested in the process of the contest so if you want to have JKFiles participate have at it.
(Psst, guys. You know the subject. Start now. Make sure to post WIP threads so we can all help each other out.)

So much for my enthusiasm... How about Star Wars weapons with some liberal creative license? =p
Well I wouldn't want to ruin your enthusiasm. :p
How about we go back to 'whatever you want'? That works for me. I honestly don't care, haha.
Been keeping an eye on this, sounds interesting! Were you guys planning to run this solely through the forums or did you want to do it through JKFiles too?
