here i have included files for all versions of XSI of the Jedi Academy skeleton made by Corto. i also included a character biped rig that i created from the skeleton to help people create seamless character animations with ease and a small amount of time. note that you do not weigh anything to or keyframe any of the roots, effectors and control objects, if you make animations only keyframe the bones since they will be the only thing that is exported. if you make animations with the rig, after your character is weighed to it and all the keyframes are set you branch select model_root (middle click) and export to .xsi. any questions you have about the files post them here and ill answer them the best i can. i also included a video on the rig with the files. happy modding!
ehmcan you please post the tool?
If you mean the full version of Softimage, no, there are laws against that.
If you mean XSI|ModTool, get it from the link in the Master Sticky. It's why we have it.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
oh sry being a noob :)
perhaps an admin can add this to the master sticky...
Thanks for doing this, man, and sorry for accidentally trying to steal your thunder earlier. I'm just sick of GMAX and all the other programs that people are using out there that can't get a model in game. Now we can do it with a free program, which was thought to be unheard of before. With this, people can now export their models to md3, convert it to 3DS with 3D Exploration and toss GMAX aside. So thanks to you and to Corto...wherever he may be.
This will be very useful to me when i start learning how to model, thanks a bunch guys!
there is no md3 exporter for XSI, if someone wants one theyll have to get the md3 code and make a plugin, someone who knows C++.
they can just export to 3ds or obj, in know theres exporters for those formats for gmax.
I was thinking in terms of an MD3 importer, and XSI doesn't have one of those either. That's where 3D Exploration comes in. I made 2 models in GMAX, and used 3D Exploration to convert the models to 3DS format, which XSI can import and use this skeleton with.
