ok i need to know if it is possible to make the music change when oyu battle.

EX: you wander around and hear blbla, then a patrol sees you and engages. the music changes to blbla2.

is this possible and how?

Look in the assets files. Pick a particular singleplayer map. Look through everything you can find for that map, and figure out how to do it from looking at how Raven did it.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

It's controlled by a file called "dms.dat" in the ext_data folder. You'll ideally need the following for single-player music changes:

Some "explore" music Some "battle" music Transition bits between the two

When I did this I only had the explore, battle, and one transition piece, which worked okay. The more transition music the more variation you'll have.

DMS.dat is separated into two sections: one labeled "musicfiles" and one labeled "levelmusic". "Musicfiles" sets up how your music will behave in-game. "Levelmusic" sets up which music should be used in your level. For instance if you make a levelmusic entry for your explore music, it will tell the game that whenever you enter battle you should use the battle music you specify instead.

It's been a really long time since I've done this, so if anything here's not accurate let me know and I'll have a better look-see. Of course there may be a better way to do this that I don't know about...
