First of all, NEVER modify one of the assets pk3s. Second of all, I'm not entirely sure what you did. Are you saying that you just emptied his folder and did nothing else? Because that won't do you any good. There are two ways to replace Kyle.

METHOD 1: MODEL OVERWRITE 1.) Rename the folder that the model you want to use to "kyle" ex: models/players/yourmodelname--rename to--models/players/kyle

2.) Open all of the .skin files and have it point to the textures in the newly renamed folder. ex: head,models/players/yourmodelname--replace with--head,models/players/kyle

3.) Copy the "model_default" skin file file and rename the copy "model_menu". Place it in folder of your new model.

4.) Place your folders & files in a new pk3 file. DO NOT put any of this into any of the assets pk3 files.

folder hierarchy: models/players/kyle

METHOD 2: NPC OVERWRITE(this will not replace Kyle in the SP menu) 1.) Open assets1.pk3. Extract the "kyle.npc" file in the directory "ext_data/npcs" to the desktop.

2.) Open the kyle.npc and have the playermodel line point to your new model. ex: playermodel kyle--replace with--playermodel yourmodelname

3.) Place your folders & files in a new pk3 file. DO NOT put any of this into any of the assets pk3 files.

folder hierarchy: ext_data/npcs
