That is not the easiest thing to do. Maybe you'd like to check this site out: tutorials_objectives ;)

Change your project settings to SP. MP and SP have some different entities and the shared entities may have different flags available, so it's better to map in the right mode, though otherwise it won't make any difference, the format being exactly the same.

There isn't any universal SP mapping tutorial. The architecture and texturing is indentical to MP, though gameplay issues are naturally somewhat different as MP is meant to be a good arena for humans to fight smoohtly each other whereas an SP map is used to tell a story (except for ladders and other special cases, like SP maps that suck).

So, once you have decided what manner of a story to tell, think carefully about the original Raven SP campaign as it will tell you somewhat accurately what can be technically achieved with the SP engine; remember that as the SP source isn't released, the limits are strict. Then build the architecture. Once you are finished with it, then again think back to the Raven campaign and learn how to handle the SP specific matters like objectives and cinematics.

There are a few tutorials around, specific to the subject, and you can always search forums - for all the questions have been asked multiple times, rest assured of that. And if nothing turns up, then make a thread asking specific questions people can actually answer (how to make an SP map being a prime example of a nonspecific question).

well i have found quite a few tutorials for JK II but not JA. Is the mapping the same for both of them?

JA is still JKII. Both JO and JA fall under the same title of JKII for all practical purposes, although you could say JA is not a JK at all since Kyle Katarn isn't the main character. In any case it's the same engine with only slight modifications easily spotted. What comes to the SP, a few files have different file names or paths, like the text crawl, if memory serves, so some tutorials for JO need a bit of adjustment if you read them to learn JA, but it's nothing you can't figure out.

One larger difference between JO and JA is how to force a playermodel, should your SP project require the player plays with a specific model/skin. That's often the case as SP level tend to tell the story of a specific person not so vague as the original (sucky) JA SP campaign. However, some n00b wrote a tutorial even for that...

I can't think of any other huge differences.
