Hey, guys. I'm starting on a large mod for JA called Star Wars: The Endless Chronicles. It's a mod thats all of the popular characters and maps from episodes 1-6 and the Expanded Universe. I'm looking for some experienced mappers and skinners to help me with this mod. If I find some good mappers and skinners within about two weeks I'm hoping this mod will be done within early 2008 :)

I'm also looking for experienced modelers as well. I'm starting this mod from scratch and there's going to be a couple changes to the saber and force power systems, I'm going to "try" to add a few changes to the AI but I'm not sure if it's possible, but if it is, I'm totally giving a go at it. Anyway, stay tuned for more info and within a week or two there should be a website up and running with dev diaries and all the low down you'll ever need.

There is a mod like this already. There have been over five of them, actually.

Very few people will reply to this call for modders. You need proof that this will get anywhere before people will join e.g. release some maps or models of decent quality. Nearly everyone new to the modding scene suggests something like this but very few seem to realise how much work and skill it takes. Create an exact plan of exactly what you want to do and show some skill as a mapper/modeller/skinner/animator and people 'might' join up.

Actually, Johnpp, you'll find that most of those mods have only represented parts of the saga, and with good reason. Three, actually.

1) You'd have far too many .npc files if you wanted to cover all six episodes with any form of canon....inity?

2) Vehicles. Same dealio. Game only supports 16, there's six packaged with it.

3) ghoul2 models. The game can only render so much, and using a lot of NPCs - or any model in the .glm format, really - in one level will occasionally crash the game when it runs out transform space.

It's a good idea... but the scale of it is too bloody big to be implemented in Jedi Academy.

Of course, there's the usual issues of work, skill, effort, and the possibility of getting your arse sued off, but eh, when you're dealing with intellectual property that isn't yours, that's pretty much standard issue stuff anyway.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Try telling the to the StarWars:Chronicles people. I forgot their forum link, but I remember they were working on EP1 right now.

That being how you know KotF is fake?

Oh, there's way more than that going against Mr Tim, but that pinata has been whacked more than enough to last us all a lifetime, so let's not even go there.

There's a similar mod in progress, called Star Wars Chronicles...

Yes, it's working on Episode 1 right now, I think. They made some progress, and I was meant to be their mapper, but...you know how things are...with me. :lookaround:
