Yup, another "help me" topic... if I can't do something, I move on. I wanted to make a map (extremely loosely) based on Jumper (yes, the film with Anakin Skywalker). There would be portals in set places that would take you to other set places (i.e. not making Portal JKA. Go somewhere else.) Is it possible to make a teleporter one-sided? So far, I have only managed to get it two-sided, which takes the tactics out a bit (you can only view teleports from one side for extra added fun and so you can't walk into them by mistake... at least I hope not... and no, I most likely will not release it =p and don't steal my lame ideas!) YouTube - Low Quality Teleporter ^^Four second video showing the basic idea. Ignore the cartoonified Stormies - I used a cartoon filter on GIMP on it and thought it looked good.
Connect a trigger_teleport to an target_teleporter would do it I think. If not try the different targets such as position and etc.
What I meant was how to make a teleporter brush one-sided. So you can only enter it one way instead of the usual 360.
Trigger_multiple with the "facing" checkbox checked, then set an angle for it. Give it a small wait value (like .1) if you like, then target it at a target_teleporter. Then target that at a misc_teleporter_dest.
Hope that helps!
Thanks, all sorted :)
You could also make that you would have to press the use key to activate the trigger... if using it by accident is the problem.
Nah - I'd want to use the teleporters "on the fly" and be able to move, aim and attack... so the use key (Enter) is right in the middle of the other controls... I know I could change it, but it'd still be another button to press.
Technically, you could still use the teleporter even if you came it from the wrong side, as long as you were still facing the right way, no?

That's correct o.o... and I can't think of a completely effective way of solving that problem that doesn't involve scripting either...
