:confused: I've searched through some stickies and looked around on other parts of the forum, but i can't seem to find a solution to my problem (well... my most recent one:lookaround: ). I used EasyGen, and followed the tutorial at http://www.map-review.com/index.php?page=tutorial_view&id=12 I compiled... ran (with devmap), but in-game, the terrain looks like a black and white grid.:uhm: I didn't use custom textures, and there isn't more than two textures on any given square... will this problem correct itself when it's all packaged into a pk3, or is there some little thing my n00b arse overlooked... if anyone could help me out or link me to a related forum, I would appreciate it.:bows: --Joe

Sounds like missing texture syndrome. I suggest making sure that you didn't accidentaly use a custom texture. If you didn't, and used a JA one, then go through the game and load up the level it came from; see if it has the same problem.

I was pretty sure i used a JA texture, but just to be safe, I went through the tutorial again and used the EXACT SAME textures that were used there... compiled, and got the same effect... not sure what's going on there... it's not terrible looking, if i was going for a tron map... :-P

Have you added the shader to shaderlist.txt, and used sv_pure 0 in the console before loading the map?

I added it to the shaderlist.... however, I've never heard of the sv_pure 0... *grabs pen*:p I'll try that tomorow... er... today, later... or something... need sleep..:uhoh: thanx a bunch for the response... i was thinking i was going to have to spend a whole lot of time poking around to figure this out... :bows: thanx again... --Joe

well... it worked... just made the server unpure... but it seems strange that i would have to do that seeming as i have all the files and stuff that the "host" has... once the map is packaged in a pk3, will i have to do the same thing? (not that it really matters, i never run my server as pure) thanx again... --Joe

No, once it's in a pk3, you're fine. Sv_pure 0 tells the game to also look in the folders and files outside of pk3's. Once it's packaged, you no longer need to set sv_pure.
