eh, sorry it took this long, I've allways sucked at "time management", and now... more than ever. Also, I've seen you're taking a few projects on Inyri, so it's okey if you're already full.

anyways:

shapes is meant to be very irregular (as in, hardly there are 2 lines in the same angle) eh, I'm not the generic Anime fan, but I do watch a lot and I'm ocasionally into mecha stuff, not a big gundam fan but the design is sort of a tribute to the overall genre (super/giant robots)... ps.: it's an ergonomic saber (I had to search that word xD  )

Oooo, I'll shoot. This is the rough idea, if you need additional profile shots I'll whip something up.

I designed it to use in a backhand saber mod. Because you've gotta use Staff Stance (unless you have animation skills and LOTS of free time to create a whole new set of stance animations(something I've never seen done, btw)), you need a longer hilt than the standard ones, as the hilt "slides" on the player's hand from animation to animation.

I mean, if you use a short hilt, in one anim he holds the hilt at the pommel, and in others he kinda grabs the blade :Puzzled:

As it's gonna be a hilt for a backhanded stance, it logically has to be kind of plain to improve movement, and it must have a good grip, that's why I added some grip rings there at the middle. The "vertical" grips would surely work much better than the ones you see at Anakin's hilt, for example.

Oh, the emitter is the left part :)

So here it goes:

PS: I can draw more ref pictures if you like.

Why is it that I always seem to miss good stuff when I go away for a bit? This isn't exactly a hilt as such, the blade runs the length of the user's forearm, perfect for tight spaces where you wouldn't want to be swinging a dangerous long blade around.

In case it's not obvious, the bottom bit that sticks out to the right is a strap to tie around the arm. That may end up clipping badly with a lot of models, so go ahead and take a bit of creative liberty with that if it helps.

PS. If you do take up this request, simple color variations and mirrored left and right hand versions would be fantastic!
