I believe the main problem that people have with it is that the majority of the skin is that it's made up of flat solid colors.

A little shading can go a long way towards a decent looking skin. By making parts of the model brighter or darker to simulate shadows and wrinkles, the model will take on a more 3 dimensional quality.

Adding some type of texture to the surfaces can also help. If you look closely enough at any fabric you will see a distinct pattern in the cloth. if it's large and noticeable enough, you may want to add something similar to the skin to capture the overall feel of it.

Here's a basic texturing process that I put on my website,... It doesn't go into specifics on exactly what to do, but it might be able to help illustrate what I'm saying.

Don't make it in paint! Oh noo! Use GIMP (free) or Photoshop (non free :giggle: ) and make effects like shading...

Take brush with black color, make new layer, shade the legs, set transparency of layer to 20%. Now change color to white, make new layer, draw highlights and set layer's transparency to 30-40% This is just basic shaiding stuff
