Is there a way to create a trigger or function that allows when the player reaches a certain area, they win?
Yeah, i dont know if its a trigger or a target, but its like ****_change_map
I searched on google and it didn't find anything. Do you know how it works in Radiant?
If somebody wins, it means they have successfully completed all of their objectives. There are no triggers or entities needed to determine this. I think what you are meaning to ask, is how you would make something happen when they "win". If I'm right, it really depends on what exactly you want to happen. Do you want a message to appear saying something like "Congratulations, you have just beaten the level. Thank you for playing through it"? The player to do a little dance? The credits to appear? The game to go straight to the main menu? The game to change to a different level? Or something else even? :)
yes you can make it so it is a certain arean then they win.
make a trigger once entrie check the player touch and make it a box in the area that you want to win once you reach.
and make a level change entrie and set the nessasary next map and keys
then connet the trigger the the change map entrie
hope that helps.
What is the code for the level_change entity?
here this should help press "N" to bring up the entrie window and set it like this
http://www.richdiesal.map-craft.com/darthg/Entities/brushes_301.htm This is pure example of how you can use simple brushes as other entities to enable a win win situation scenario. Bear in mind I dont have the proper tools at the moment, They are slowly downloading grrr.. This is all from pure memory! Alright, When you make a trigger_once or multiple, ALWAYS include the texture TRIGGER. Most people dont. Once you make the trigger brush, Highlight it and goto the entities menu to make a FUNC_TRIGGER thus enables you to load other entities. Or if I had in fact was right with once/multiple for that entity part. Well hey its been awhile so shush lol. If you mean by MP. Well that should be alittle more explainitory with the Seige functions. But yeah this trigger function should always be kept in mind too!
I think he knew that stuff, thats all basic. He was asking how he could make one so so the player "wins."
Well better to be safe then sorry! And also if you do have compiled maps in a spefifc DIR, always keep in mind if its for MP or SP, map/MP/mymapname or in some cases map/mymapname, or map/ep1/mymapname and map is the base dir for bsp maps.. dont think that is of importance but if its something that helps well here ya go padawan!
