does anybody know how to make a reflective chrome texture for a sword. i'm talking about not just a picture of it but where images and light reflect off of it. i know people look down upon it but i am using milkshape but i do have adobe photoshop 8.0 which is good. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

for reflections you need to make a portal try looking at the HR_tournament map shaders for the floor in the main room

1: Open the shader in Notepad, or similar. 2: Make sure you did the above. 3: Change the paths to the textures you are using. (Remember that all paths may not have to change, an example could be a shader using a glass.tga, and then a stone_bridge.jpg, in that case its only the stone_bridge.jpg you're gonna change, since the glass.tga is needed to create the right effect.) 4: Check the above. 5: Put the shader in base/shaders, or a .pk3 with the folder shaders in it. 6: Make sure you have choosen one of the things above. 7: Now go play the game in the map with the texture/shader in, if you have choosen to make a .pk3 then you dont have to put it to pure server, if you just did put it in the folder, then you have to make it /sv_pure 0 8: If you did the above correct then, your shader should be working.

you keep talking about using it on a map but i want it on a sword but i still greatly appreciate the help because it would be the final thing since i've made a bunch of good melee weapons that you dont need a sword base .pk3 for since most people dont realize that all the things you need to make a working sword are already in the game just read the sith sword .sab file and the only thing thats left is top make that nice reflective stainless steel look all help is greatly appreciated!
