hi!

well, i haven't tried that, but it shouldn't be too hard to do.

mentioned jpg-files (head, hips_02, tentacles, torso_01, torso_01_arms, torso_01_hands, torso_02_arms, torso_03, torso_06) are located in the following folder:

base/assets1/models/players/jedi_tf

extract them, reskin them, save them into a pk3-file (of whatever name), and put this file into your base-folder. your images should override the standard images, then.

if you want to mod something respective the twi'lek coloring options - well, i guess that this should be possible modifying the "players"-shaderfile (in the folder base/shaders; after opening the file, search for "jedi_tf")... or probably some other shaderfile, i'm sorry, i don't know... but as far as i guess, you didn't want to do that, anyway...

hope this helps you!

I had the same problem, you need a .png plugin to put into your photoshop folder, may be addons, I can't recall it's been a while. Anyway, do some googlin' and I'm sure you'll find it. :D

im gonna do so more research right now.See i found all the files the thing is i cant figure out how to get the original twilek skin color. All the files are blank besides the face features i guess for when you would select a color. So your saying that i would need to find the shader file to keep the original coloring aye?

hmm... my english isn't that good, so please excuse if there are misunderstandings...

all the images that show twi'lek skin (i.e., the files i listed before) are jpgs, only those that show the eyelids, lips, clothing, attire, tattoos or the like are pngs. you just have to extract these jpgs, recolor and pack them into a pk3. so if you want to modify the twi'lek skin, this should be the way.

if that doesn't work for you, it might be useful if you described what you'd like to do exactly - to help me understand you better.

So for example the face png file needs the rest of the face besides the eyelids mouth eyes etc.Now my friend wants the original selectable green choice from the game.Do i just try to match that color as best as possible and color the rest of the face green? but wouldnt it be missing like other details on the face? shadows and such. Also another question i have about the twi lek is for torso_6 that has that left shoulder gauntlet looking thing. If possible how do i turn that gauntlet on for the right shoulder too?

it's the head.JPG that you need, not the face.PNG!

look, as i told you, there are JPG-files in that folder:

head.jpg, hips_02.jpg, tentacles.jpg, torso_01.jpg, torso_01_arms.jpg, torso_01_hands.jpg, torso_02_arms.jpg, torso_03.jpg, torso_06.jpg

these JPGs are the only image-files there which show the original yellow-greenish twi'lek skin - and as far as i understood, that is exactly what you are searching for. the PNGs only contain eyelids, lips, tattoos, clothing etc... textures that will complement the skin, just like "make-up", so to say.

as to the "shoulder gauntlet looking thing" for the right shoulder: i fear that this can't be realized so easily. a skin/texture just covers the character-model, just like a skintight colored latex suit would cover a dummy. in that case, the model itself would have to be modified...

ah ok cool thanks man for your time and help. And about the gauntlet i thought maybe it was pissible cause certain models have hidden bones and such and i thought maybe that was the case with this one too being its shoulder is already there on one side. But again thanks bro!

thanks, you're welcome, mate! so, found you have these hidden JPGs, little padawan, yes?

:don:

well, although i don't believe so, maybe the model has a hidden bone, ey? you'd have to check the 7 torso_xx.SKIN files (in the same folder), find the right one, open it (text editor), find the right line, and replace the "*off" at the end with the path of the desired texture (here: "models/players/jedi_tf/torso_06.jpg").

this would "color" the desired part, and thus, make it visible.

the trick is to find the adequate line (for the right shoulder) - if there is any - and simply assign the correct texture to it.

the problem is... that can be quite a fatiguing task... have you worked with modview? trial - error - trial - error - trial - error - trial - error - trial - error...

:Panic:

i had a quick look at the torso_f1.SKIN (the one for the "black latex twi'lek" with the gauntlet), and if i'm not mistaken, i found the decisive lines. none of them is turned "*off", so i fear, that would - de facto - be business for a model-modder!
