Um,

I am just wondering if anyone knows the cause of this error. I figure it is because of some internal memory cap with the menus or something, but I can't figure out why my few little additions sent it just over the limit.

I have often wanted to manipulate the flow of RAM to the game, yet haven't seen much help in that department. To put it mildly, i have 1gb of ram, so I have no qualms about dedicating 512mb to the game when i run it. However, i notice some cvars that changing doesn't seem to do anything. r_modelpoolmegs r_soundmegs

there was also: com_hunkmegs com_zonemegs

but neither of these did anything as I could tell. I am wondering if there is a way that I can tell the system to allocate a tad bit more to the UI interface allocation, or if I am just screwed and have to reduce the count of "itemDefs" in my menu system.

Thanks, Jaeden "Sifo Dyas" al'Reac Ruiner

I think that maybe this is an in-Windows thing. Maybe you don't have enough non-Paging File memory available because of other programs.

I think you did not quite understand. I have a full gig of physical RAM, running on a Dual Proccessor pIII 1.4 machine, so It isn't a windows error. I have added a lot of things to the UI menu system for JKA and I'm not suprised i have reached a buffer limit of some sort, i'm just curious as to how I might extend the length of that buffer. *chuckle*

GAA! Sorry, but I have been rendered useless while drooling about those specs... Still running an ancient P3 866 Mhz and 512 RAM.
