well i thought that this would be a cool hilt....but
UMV unmapping would be a hassle! any thoughts? p.s. i dont know why that red sphere is there
If you're using GMAX, dont use the gizmo to map it. When you add the UVW Mapping modifier, go down to the little box and click Cylindrical, then tick cap. Then select your faces and unwrap. I cheat when I use rings by doing it the same way..HA!
Just delete the red sphere.
thank you vary much, should i post a skinned virsion later?

Well, it all depends on the ammount of detail you could put into it. Truthfully, your saber is very symmetrical, so you could take one section, and put a lot of detail into it, and than use the same one for all the way down the hilt. The section I'm thinking of is highlighted in blue.
and for future reference, a spoiler tag is [ spoiler ] and [ /spoiler ] without the spaces.
If you feel like it. I'd actually like to see how this turns out.
I am actually giving up modelling. The wrist saber 2 I was doing for the contest exploded in my face a few days ago. It was to be my last work. ::Sigh::. Oh well.
umm ill try both ways. if your wondering what the rings are for i was going to put in the readme that its the power swich, flick the middle ring to turn it on and use the others to troggle saber styles XD i love loop-holes!
oh, do you guys have any ideas for what its name should be?
Im not good with names. Just turn on your tv and call it the first word you see..lol
i dont think it should be called "for only 19.95" lol

thats WAY too many polies for something thatll be so freakin small in game and wont be looked at too much, you should make the main cylinder have no more than 8 sides and ditch the rings.
