Some of you who've been around here longer than others might remember that I was working on a Vivi model (from Final Fantasy 9) but that I dropped the project due to innate weighting problems with him. Well technically it would be impossible to weight him to the skeleton the way he is.
BUT! If I alter his proportions slightly (mainly just make his arms shorter) I get the feeling he'll weight just fine. I tested him out and right now the only problems I'm having are some dodgy weighting (because it was just a test and I was sloppy) and his arms are deforming funny because they're much longer than the skeleton's arms. So hopefully if I shorted them up just a bit it'll weight ok enough to play without looking wrong! Yay... for some :p
o.o Whos ViVi, pic?
I don't think even the most hardcore FFIX fans will notice (or care) if his arms are a bit short. Everything in that game was mal-proportioned anyway.
If you wanna know what Vivi is....think old Black Mage.
vivi is kinnda a black mages with a new suit...i donno i think i like the black mages better...he had his sertent things to him that i liked...
Aye, I remember this project. Considering how you now must have much more experience after all the work you have done for yourself and others, it's not a surprise you would find it easier to tweak it succesfully into a working condition.
Vivi's a black mage, and he's not generic like the rest. FFIX had everything in mini-me proportions, since all the design work was based on FF. (And by "FF" I mean the very first one - never played it? Get FF: Dawn of Souls for GBA or FF Origins for PS.)
This little bit of news, has made my day. Vivi, ftw!
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
i remember ur original thead and all i can say nice to see vivi finally geting done i always thaut it was a cool model anf for u guys wanting pics go to the original thead http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=220661&page=2&highlight=vivi
Hey, I am not really a FF fan; but could somebody make a Bart Simpson model please? Other than that; it would be neat having Vivi.
That news are great, the model was really good and it'd be a pitty that you couldnt put it in game, great job
