hi again im workin on a weapon used by xemnas, the leader of org.13 from kingdom hearts 2, and i kinda need some help basically since i intended there to be orbs encasing the users hand i was wondering if its possible to create the uv mapping so that its not a circle, but a square instead here they r so far ____by_dyyor.jpg dont mind the bright red orbs, theyll eventually be see thru and glassy i figured id make them look like a sphere od hexagons, hence my trouble so yeah, help plz

Hexes would be a bit much. Make a cube, then MeshSmooth (or whatever it is called in your neck of the woods, basically it makes the object smoother by adding verts and edges) it a couple of times. You can then UV map it like you would a cube.

I didn't think Xemnas had "saber hilts" for his lightsaber-type weapons... (1 Google search later)

They just kinda come out of his hands... so why not make the texture on the model invisible or simply just have tags in the right place?

yeah they do, but in KH1 when hes a boss as the inigmatic man his hands are encased inside little spheres that look glassy and have a hexagon structural pattern, which is the direcntion im goin with this, they also had little lightning-like effects {which i hope to have later}

update on the weapon shot0090.jpgshot0091.jpg i now have a nice pattern on the orb, as well as a small inner orb, still working on the texturing of course, this weapons going to have a few shader effects, im also giving it a fitting sound set {preferably the original game sounds} i decided to make this weapon because ive made a couple others as a set xaldin lance LanceSingle.jpgLanceStaff.jpgLanceDual.jpg saix claymore claymor.jpg

Awesome work! Saix's weapon is looking amazing. Xaldin's lance looks a little bit flat, but otherwise spot-on.

:eek: Nice work! I used to model sabers, but it couldn't map the UV right. I can't wait to use these, keep up the good work :)

Oh, and using the obs is fine, i actually think they look cooler with the orbs =p

ok, i need a different kind of assistance now is there a weapon out currantly that has animated lightning anywhere on it? i wanna add lightning to the orbs, give them a real effect -----------------------EDIT---------------------- nevermind, found a sword that has lightning effects on it, im checking it out now

oook.... ive decided to hold off on the aerial blades for now, gotta get better at this >< for some reason the animated shader wasnt working on it so bah ill just work on the other weapons for now, next up i spose is lexaeus' tomahawk then maybe vexens shield *rolls eyes* idk, should i make luxord cards? he eventually uses huge cards as swords i believe, maybe thermal det. dice too? XD not gonna bother with zexion's book, its.... a book.... XD always wanted to do axels chakrams but they kept having too many verticles @_@ oooo, marluxia's scythe will be mah fav :D and i might do larxene's knives, idk >_>; as for xigbar's guns... those arent really sword/saber material... if i do make them itll be the sniper version of them {where he locks them together} and itll replace the sniper rifle i spose :\ not sure how demyx's sitar will work out though... idk, yall give me input on what u think @_@
