Oh okay, so Alpha blending blends two textures together, and d2p makes them unevenly blend, so it look different in different areas. Such as in water?
D2P doesn't need alpha fade brushes, strictly speaking and it uses the height of the terrain to decide which texture is shown, although you can still manually add paths and stuff with the alpha fade brushes. Obviously with flat water, you have to use the alpha fade brushes as dot2product isn't used.
Oh, and you can blend more than 2 textures together with dot2product.
I didn't make it!
Oh, now I get it, I guess I will have to try again and see if it works like that with what I'm doing.
O_O I...Im honored I inspired you, Botdra. And sorry for not being around...lol, stuff to do...places to be...etcetcetc, you get the gist :p As for the thread, sorry for the bump, but I had to just say that. A lot has changed, and Im working in Maya mostly now, and Im also drawing more, and composing music most out of all those. Its nice to see a functional thread again :p all I see on the first page when I go there now are dysfunctional threads with lots of drama...perhaps Im looking at the wrong times. Its good to see everyone else still active. Looks like everything is about under control here thanks to Szico :3
No worries, I'm still working on this but I'm the same as you, more music than anything else.
I'm having problems with making shaders etc. so I've just been trying different textures etc.
