Yep, GtkRadiant is the map editor used for both Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

so how would you go for an episode 1 qui gon-maul-kenobi SP map for personal use? lets say weve got LDJ's map and all the NPC-s from filefront, then should I make an autoexec config script like npc spawn maul and qui gon and playermodel kenobi? or do i have to try to modify the map itself somehow with gtkradiant and set up objectives and such? i heard there is a reversing method for the bsp-s, and someone else said this is illegal, but I dont think it is for personal use tho. or what do you think, would I be able to make the whole thing via the autoexec.cfg and no map modifying? can i bring up the MP map in SP without problem with this method?

If I were you, and I'm not, I'd wait till you get a bit more...educated, in mapping, before trying something like this.
