I have NEVER been able to get 1.4 to work on my Vista, best to try out 1.5
ok!!! a litttle late but i have managed to make it work.
right click on the gtkradiant.exe file in the program files file, and check all the boxes.
now the only problem is it's in 256 color and 600x800 res.
i can just barely make out the font on the program but at east it's working.
I'l try to see if i can change the resolution with ought causing the program to crash
hmm maybe my vista is like an angel-like computer. AND ITS A LAPTOP. JKA works better than my XP on it. same with GTK, althogh i never use it. LOL
i hate vista! i cant get it to wor k and still look nice i want it to look the same on vista as it does on xp if they come out with vista only games i am switching to linux! oh and nice smiles filefront:cool::D :tank:
Just keep that old copy of windows XP will you, or even cheaper, get windows 2000! I know windows XP and earlier versions allow 2 operating systems to be installed on your PC, it is just a matter of partitioning 2 or more partitions on the drive, installing the older OS first on the second partition and the newer one second on the main partition. That that solves the gaming modder's problems, and takes about 1 gb of hdd space to do it.
I'm having the exact same difficulties as you, my good sir, and the only solution I have is by running the program in 256 color mode and windows 98 compatibility mode. that being said, I would rather die than submit my eyes to such torture. does ANYONE, for the love of god, have a PASSABLE solution?

I have a solution for both GTKRadiant 1.4 & 1.5 simply check every box except for run in 256 colors and 640 x 680 resolution and run the program in XP service pack 2 compatibility. Im running Vista 32-bit and it works fine....
