I'm pretty sure that sunlight is an effect beyond the (natural) limits of this engine. But hey, maybe somebody knows a clever way to duplicate the effect!

Nice work. I haven't been here for four years, glad to see there's still a modding community for this game.

I got an idea

first you need your skybox with the sun at 1 side then create a pyramid which starts at your sun and ends at in your castle then create a ''few'' light entities start with a weaker one (standard settings) then place a light entitiy where the light radius of th eother on ends and add as to the intensity as it needs till the radius hits the pyramid with all sides again thats how you should go on until you got the light how you want it then just dlete the pyramidor give the nowdraw texture to make it invisible ingame if you think you still have to change some things at the lighting

you should also place some stronge light entities in front of the windows

AshuraDX;4939963now you just have to select your whole castle ,move it to the center of the terrain and click CSG substract

...Thereby completely destroying the map.

I couldn't follow that. If you're talking about creating a sunlight effect, just use a "sun" light entity and save yourself all that trouble. Or, even better yet, use a sun shader.

oh well then just create a brush with the same lenght and with of your castle and use that to CSG substract a whole in the rock for your castle and then move the terrain to your castle is that better ?

Yeah, that's a little better...although you should avoid CSG subtract as much as you can. It generates a lot of unnecessary polygons...usually enough to impact FPS if you use it too much. just be careful with it or you'll get burned.

EDIT: If you want to pursue sun effects, look up sun lighting and sun shaders, there's some really neat stuff there. I can't remember what site I found the tutorial on.
