This is the Galbadian Soldier from Final Fantasy 8, for those unaware. However if you're unaware, you're probably not going to care about this :p

I'm planning on doing a normal version, then the "elite" version (ie Biggs and Wedge).

Thoughts?

Other than it was stupid of me to trade my copy of FFVIII for Alundra II? A wireframe would be nice, and a side view, and is it just me or does his chest plate look kinda like a sports bra?

No, it's not just you. Making it look right is top on my "to-do" list. I'll get you a wireframe later.

I think she uses 3ds Max 7, but I'm not sure.

Looks okay so far... Dunno what it is but something about it just doesn't look right. Probably just the lack of skin, and the goatee. The pants could be a little baggier, and I think the chestplate is the wrong shape. The sword is spot on though.

I'm assuming you're using this pic as a reference? If not... Here ya go. :D

*EDIT: Ah hah, the feet are WAAAY too small. They look like chicken feet. :P

Yep, that's the big I'm using. And as I said, I'm working on the breastplate. I had other things on my mind, like modelling the rest of the body rather than spending three weeks on the chest and realizing I was burnt out and didn't want to finish it...

The face texture is just a placeholder right now. He's not keeping the goatee.

i love it. every time you model something, you get better by leaps and bounds! the design is a little off, but youve already established how, and where. so i'll expect you to have a good looking soldier when your done =]

as always, you know where i am if you need any help!

keep it up.

Heh, getting closer... If you guys carry on at this rate, might have all the FFVII and FFVIII characters done by the end of the year. :p It's looking pretty good. Aside from the sports bra comment I can't see many inaccuracies that won't be solved as you go along. I thought they had either black or grey gloves on though?

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
