I got bored last night because I haven't modelled anything in days, so out the clear blue I decided to model Vivi from Final Fantasy 9, more for my own amusement/practice than any other practical purpose. As such I don't promise that it'll work well in JA (given its 'odd' proportions), but I'll try, if I get that far.

I included some extra references of Vivi, in case anyone wants to give me crits. Yes, give me crits! I don't want to start texturing it until it looks right this time, so criticize away. Don't be too mean, though :p. This is a modelling style I'm not used to.

First of all, before you start with the crits, let me give you a list of things I know aren't right that I'm planning on fixing:

-Hat (going to make the back a bit bulkier) -Eyes (are temporary, don't know exactly how I'm going to do them yet) -Coat cuffs (I'm not actually modelling the hole parts in - I'll alpha it later) -Neck (it doesn't exist... I know)

Anything else is fair game, so don't be afraid to call me on anything! Brutal honesty is life's best teacher.

Nice little model you got there. What program do you use?

Sorry for the double post, but here are some textures I whipped up for the model;

(Yes, I know they're not that good. But I think they will suffice for a cartoon-like character.)

I use max 7.

I'm looking to put a little more detail into the character. Don't worry about textures - I'm sure I can manage. Not to mention I hate UV mapping around pre-existing textures.

Understandable. Besides, it was a good way to get practice on creating them. And now to show off my uber Photoshop skillz (Yes, with a 'Z'); deltatextures.png

She said that it might not work well. Well, I can't comment on the acurracy, having never played FF9, but the model certainly looks cool =). Kutgw.
