Hi all u JA mappers, modelers, and modders. I have seen many great maps and mods created by jedi academy fans and i think i would like to begin mapping jedi academy myself. I know this question sounds very general and stupid but i would really think i would enjoy this. Can anybody tell me what software i would need, how to use it, and basically how to map jedi academy~ thanks.:bows::bows::bows::bows:
RichDiesal's JK2Radiant Mapsource - Mapping University Dont worry, this is also used for JK3. That is a very good place to start, I used that when I started mapping. You can also try just www.map-craft.com Both are really good, and youll need pakscape along with GTK Radiant 1.4
ok ill check them out. Thanks!

You know that stickied topic at the top of this board that says "JA Modding Tutorials and Tools"..?
If you have any questions, you can contact me through xfire, or through here.
Just some advice: Get used to caulking everything; saves time later. Start simple (boxes are a good place to start). And the most important thing is practice. Just getting used to all the controls and the basic layout is important.
Also don't release a map until you've had a good few months of solid practice. Feedback is good, but it will be more productive if you showcase your map in here first to get some suggestions before release.
Spineless has a good point. No offense to the jk3files staff, but they always praise files from the good models and mappers, but when a newbie comes around, it looks like they dont take into account the fact that they are NEW, and give almost everyone a 1/10. So, yeah, practice.
That's how the real world works, you start from the bottom and get spit on and trampled until you get good enough to be reckoned with. Anyways, post your pics here, and we'll help you improve much more than showing your family and friends will.
