Hello there. I'm using 3DS Max 7. These are my first attempts in modelling. I'm making a player model and I have everything done (modelling, weightning, linking, uv) but whenever I try to export my model to .XSI it gives me this: errwv1.jpg Thanks for any help provided.

Try making a generic object in a new scene and exporting it to XSI. Do you get the same error?

I don't know much about modding and I don't care about it enough to learn.

Well, instead of doing that what you said above Inyri, I opened just the skeleton.max (Provided from Pyk0 tutorial site) and tried to export it to .XSI. I got exactly the same error. Maybe I'm missing some software like microsoft visual studion or something of that sort?

Try a different plugin.

You were right Jose with this plugin. I can now export it to XSI but when it comes to caracass, it gives me "Error 12- Unexpected token". Here's what Psyk0 wrote about error 12: "You either have a "ghost" object in the scene or a mesh without bones / weights assigned to it. This could happen (ghost object) when you segment your model and detach the last mesh (you are left with an object that has no polygons but max still treats it as a mesh). What you need to do is click H, and you should see and empty space (at the top?) in the selection box, select the "blank" object and delete it."

As for those ghost objects, I've checked it and I have no blank fields in my objects list. I've also checked that all my meshes are weighted.

Any idea what can cause that?

Select every piece of the model one by one through the list and select all the verts on each one of them. If there aren't any, that's your ghost.

Now this is really weird. First I tried your method Jose, so I rigged whole meshes to single bones without going into visually good weight just to check it (for example weighted whole torso to upper lumbar etc). It resulted in error 12. Then I opened the weighted, linked etc model from psyko's site and tried to export it. Even without changing anything, I got the error 12.

And yes, I've run through my meshes and unfortunately hasn't found the ghost. (sorry for double posting but the time for edit was over)

Update. I've tried everything to get my model ingame. I'll tell you what were me steps on creating model, maybe that's the flaw. First I imported premade skeleton into my max 7. Then I imported glm files as I wanted to do some frankensteing. I got rid of *tags and stupidtriangleoff, applied reset xform to my whole mesh, converted it to editable mesh and scaled it up so it matches the skeleton. It seemed that the glm files were already detached an uv mapped, all I had to do was weightning and hierarchy linking. I deleted the caps because didn't want to make them. Assigned proper textures to my meshes and it seemed that everything was ok. Moved my model around the pelvis and everything was fine. I used automatic hierarchy linking script and linked custom meshes. Then I imported it to XSI using these settings:55382767ke8.jpg I've put the xsi file into caracass and got error 12. Is anything what I've written above wrong? Also, maybe importing my mesh to XSI Mod Tools and there weight and link my model would help? I'm very desperate to be honest, I've got max 7 for Christmas and thought I would use it. Also, would anyone take a look at my file if there is no solution? If yes then send me your email via pm and I'll send you my max file along with textures. Any help appreciated.
