I have two questions for people that have some skill with GtkRadiant. 1. I've followed 2 or 3 tutorials on how to import custom textures, and I can get them into the folders (C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Academy\GameData\base\textures\) and everything and make them show up in gtkradiant, but when I put them in game all I see is a gray box where my texture should be. Any tips? 2. I'm trying to make a security/control room in my map and i'm currently stuck at making the cameras part. NOW, i DO have the cameras working properly, and i CAN see into them, but the problem is that when i look into it the camera is rotated sideways, i've checked the angle of both the portal_camera and portal_surface entities and they are all normal, this has always happened when I try to make a camera. So again, any advice? I really appreciate any help I can get because 1. I REALLY need custom textures in my map 2. Cameras just make the map more interesting.

See my signature for an answer to question 1.

Just an FYI about your second question: the reason your camera is rotating is because the camera and the surface it's projecting onto are probably at an angle to each other. For some reason, it does make a difference.

Kind of arrogant for me to be posting here..."for people good with gtkradiant"... :giggle:

Ok thanks, I fixed that. So who can answer my first question?

So...they have to be parallel/adjacent? Because from what Ioda told me it worked, but now whenever i move around and look at it, the camera's screen flickers between the normal upright view, and a sideways view.

Ioda's advice should be correct.

If you're having problems with cameras not being constant, that's probably because more than one camera is on the screen at once. JAMP can only show one camera at a time or else that'll happen.

That's not the problem, I haven't even made a second camera in the entire map, but i'll play around with it.

*shrug* they're kinda goofy. Sorry I can't be of any help, but I haven't touched cameras in a loooong time.

Ok well..hmmm.... I did everything that the link in your signature said. But it still is grey and white. I must be doing something wrong no doubt... I've uploaded the textures into my pk3 I've saved the texture width/height as a power of two (512x512) And I saved it as a "baseline(standard)" jpg But it still isn't working Any suggestions?

Check the in-game console for errors. It should display a warning in yellow.

Here are some tips:

- Simply renaming a .jpeg to .jpg makes an unusable file. If you did that, rename back to .jpeg and resave in PS or GIMP (without touching any buttons!) as tex_name.JPG. - Textures need to be in textures/map_name(or texture type name if thats how you organise them) for radiant to recognize it and for you to be able to apply it.

- Make sure your making this folder heirachy in gamedata/base, not the GtkRadiant subfolders. (my first mistake and it took me a month to fix it realise it xD Ah, such a while ago.. :) )
