Well, this actually happened quite some time ago, but I just thought I'd mention it. I'd actually like to know for sure what went wrong for future reference. I have a pretty good idea what might have prevented it, but let me present the problem to you and see what you make of it first. Alright, Jose on here had made an Edward Elric model for my friend (a request from me) for his birthday. The day I gave it to him, he was excited to try it out and begged me to play. I agreed, and we hooked our computers up via ethernet cable, seeing as he didn't have wireless internet. I started up the game, using a regular lightsaber from the game and a regular map from the FFA map list, just to make sure that everything that I was using, he had already downloaded. I used the same exact model as well (Edward). The game started, and after a while, he finally figured out how multiplayer worked and found my game. He joined, and messed around for about two minutes, and then he suddenly disappeared from my game, appearing back at his multiplayer main menu. There were no error warnings of any kind. So he re-entered my game. After about half a minute of gameplay, he was again returned to the main menu, with no error warnings or anything. He rejoined again and, sure enough, met the same result. After that we gave up on it. My guess is that we probably should have used something like a router to connect our computers instead of just connecting them through one ethernet cable. What do you all think?

If the connection was the problem, the game should have at least shown an error message. If you ever do it again, check the console for an error message. If there isn't one, I really can't say what the problem is.

It probably had an error message on the console, but he didn't think to check it. I know I didn't think to check mine. We'll be doing it again soon I believe, so we might try it again and see what happens. I may bring my router along with me to try it out and see if there's any difference.

There also seems to be a problem where my computer is unable to be a dedicated internet server. As soon as I start the game, the game shuts down and it goes to the desktop, showing the console getting everything ready. As soon as it prepares everything, it suddenly says "Unexpected end of info file" and it all goes down the drain. The only real error in it is something like "{ was missing from info file" or something of that regard.

i think its on your side that has the problem.. have you tried hosting a game before? as a server? cause i think your pc or net cannot cater it..

Maybe. So that means I can't host games?

I wanted to edit my last post, but it won't let me. Anyway, I just wanted to ask if there is any way to host a game without being a server. It doesn't even make sense, even as I say it...but I'd just like to ask, in order to make absolutely sure. If the answer is no, then I'm pretty sure I probably can't host a game no matter what...unless I use a better computer, I suppose.

Could pay for a server.
