As far as I know batch files don't work on Windows XP with default settings, or else the two computers I have at home hate me, or are lazy despite immense speed.

When I click on one(for running a mod, for example) a window(presumably CMD.exe) comes out in a flash then suddenly disappears and nothing happens.

How many different mods have you tried this with?

2, Escape and Survival Mod 2, both SP mods. I tried to put in the commands on the console but it says it's write protected, so I can't execute it in-game.. I'm going to go play a solo team ffa with bots the same color as me and use voicechat to yell commands at them and pretend they're doing what I say.. I'll come back later.

Batch files work on XP. For a fact. You need them to play Moviebattles II, rather, it's alot more convienient. make sure your code is right.
