Before I begin, I would like to assure you that I've done all the searching I can, and I've yet to find what I'm looking for here or elsewhere.

I've recently been experimenting with various customizations of Jedi Academy, and I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if there's an in-depth tutorial for working with bot files, specifically the .JKB files. The leftover comments in the original bot files within the assets were helpful, but I'm looking for more information, specifically, what are the max/min acceptable values for the general bot info variables such as maxturn, chatfrequency, etc., and why my two bots I've made, in spite of their EmotionalAttachments to each other, have yet to show any reaction to one of them getting violently sliced up by an enemy.

The closest thing I've found so far is a Bot Maker, but that's for JK2, and I don't think it has what I need.

So if anyone can help me in this matter, it would be highly appreciated.

Try experimenting with min/max values and see how bots behave after each change. I know , it`s slow and annoying process , but I don`t know what else to tell you. As for the Emotional Attachment , I know that JO supported that feature , but I`m not sure about JA. Btw , are those two bots you want to show emotions for each other males or females?

Actually, as it turned out, I downloaded that bot maker for JK2 for the heck of it, and lo and behold! It worked. Not only do the bots actually react now, it also fixed that problem where they kept spamming Mindtrick, even though I had set it to zero. (I would have edited the first post, but the thirty minute limit was up...)

All I needed to do was fix a few lines in the .BOT file to give them their proper models and saber styles, and it was done.

To Admins or whoever manages the files: I would like to recommend that the Bot Maker's description be updated with a note that it can also be used for JA, provided that you open the .BOT file to set up the model and saber.

And as for your second question, one is a male, the other is a female, and it's a platonic relationship.

Funny note: the female came too close while I was teaching an Ugnaught the folly of attacking a Jedi, and before I knew it, the male was hunting me down...

Platonic relationship? Oh come on! Where`s the fun in that? :D
