When I try to spawn an NPC it says the following in the console: errorJKA.jpg

It never did this before, and it only does it on Default JKA NPCs...

Why is this?

You probably have too many self added NPCs in your "Base" folder. They come with skins and models, so clean up your "Base" folder of your custom stuff and try again.

I'm not sure if that's it, Non-Default NPCs spawn fine...

Try cleaning your "Base" folder anyway to rule out that possibility. You can simply put everything back if the problem remains.

Well, I just tried my game with an empty base folder, and...I can spawn NPCs on an empty base...:lol:...anyway, I have to put them in so many at a time to find which one is causing the problem...

The problem was caused by the NPC file of HapSlash's Garmarouen (sp) Guard.

pk3 files are read in reversed alphabetical order, so Z has more priority than A, etc.

If you pass the NPC limits, the .npc files in the assets pk3s actually have the lowest priority. So, that's probably the cause of the error.

I'm willing to bet it wasn't that .npc file itself, and the reason it works now is because removing it brought you under the limit. Add another .npc file or two and the same thing will likely happen all over again.

So, the only solution, really, is to not keep any NPCs unless you explicitly want them. No other way around it, I'm afraid.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

You can always open your skin/model .pk3 files with Packscape, WinZip or WinRAR and delete .npc files from there. Then, simply recompile .pk3 files and your NPC problems should be gone.

It's possible that a "{" was actually missing as every NPC file contains:

{

and

}

So if HS forgot to add a "{" then it's likely it will cause this error as it breaks up the NPC spawn information that it loaded into the game.

Edit - Just checked the models NPC file and it seems fine so it's most likely a cause listed above. I had a similar issue with the "Master Chief" model on pcgamemods some time ago but removing it fixed the problem.
