I have no idea what causes the "VM_Create on UI failed" problem. I know it can happen though if you're already running JA in the background, and then try to start the game again. But since you quit JA to remove those packs I suppose that can't be it.

In any case, the only thing which seems to fix this is completely uninstalling JA (make sure you choose 'no' when it asks you if you want to save the savegames etc), then manually deleting all the remaining files in Progamfiles/Lucasarts/JediAcademy, then re-installing the game. Then, download the 1.01 patch, and re-download and install Japlus, Lugormod etc (If using any of those mods). If you do this, in that specific order, you should be able to get the game working again.

I completely reinstalled it, and it didn't work. I even deleted everything after I uninstalled it.

Maybe did you download a new driver, or something?

You have integrated graphic card and Windows XP, right? Have you tried reinstalling the graphic drivers? Perhaps updating them would help, altough I doubt it will. :uhm:

Try this:

  • right click on jamp.exe file and choose Properties
  • go to Compatibility tab
  • enable Compatibility mode and set it for Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
  • disable Desktop Composition
  • enable running with Administrative priviledge level
  • click OK and try running the game directly from that .exe file

Really? Nice one! But what causes the problem in the first place?
