For some odd reason, my Jedi Academy keeps crashing without apparent reason. It usually happens right after I join a game or when the status is at "Awaiting snapshot..."
I have no idea how to remedy this problem-- I've reinstalled Jedi Academy, taken all files out of my base, deleted unneeded files from base, all to no avail. There's not even an error message when I crash-- it's as though someone just did Alt+F4 on it.
Can somebody help? :bawl:
It could be a graphics problem, try different windows resolutions. Or the game could be defaulting to a resolution that your computer can't handle, can't remember how to fix that one though. But you can always try the lucas arts help desk here:http://yodashelpdesk.lucasarts.com/os.asp?sid=043232061231067001054192&pid=1378&pnm=Star+Wars+Jedi+Knight%3A+Jedi+Academy%99
My drivers are all updated, and my default resolution is 800x600, which is perfect for my monitor.
By the way, I've used the LucasArts "help" desk before for a previous problem I've had. They really didn't help at all-- they were telling me to update my graphics cards, patch up my game, etc. when it really had nothing to do with the problem I had. No more help desk for me.
Perhaps it's my color quality. I'll try that.
Okay, I've tried switching my color resolution, and that still didn't work.
A friend of mine suggested I relocate my Virtual Memory, but THAT didn't work either.
Also, I'd like to note that my single player doesn't crash-- it's multiplayer only.
if you're playing on JA+ servers make sure you have a current version of JA+, and you might try reinstalling JA+ anyhow even if it is up to date and you use it
It's not just in JA+ servers-- it's in MB2 servers, and every other one, too. My JA+ is all up to date, anyhow, so it doesn't make a bit of difference.
I have this same exact problem, and I do not know how to fix it. It is rather annoying and I would like it to stop. I just sent something to the help desk though, maybe they will finally do something "help"ful.
