I normally get roughly 80-100 FPS on any given map with Dynamic Glow off, but I think the maps look nicer with it on. However, whenever I turn it on, the FPS drops to an unplayable level (5-20), and so I am forced to turn it off again.

So is there a way to play the maps with dynamic glow on without any significant drop in FPS?

Yeah, get a better video card (you know, those ones that run around $150)

I'd also recommend turning down your texture detail, that usually has a signifigant impact on your FPS.

How do you switch dynamic glow on in the first place?

or open console:

/r_dynamicglow 1 to turn ON. /r_dynamicglow 0 to turn OFF.

and yes, if ur fps drops low with it on you can only try getting latest drivers. if that doesn't work, new vid card is the only way forward :(
