ok when ever i try and enable cheats in a running server i use ((devmap mapname)) it causes me to leave the server and start a new one.

how do i make it enable cheats without restarting/leaving the server, i can live with restarting just not leaving it i want it in the server i am in.

If you're running BaseJKA, you have to use the "devmap" command in the dedicated server console, not ingame.

You cannot enable cheats on someone elses server unless you are the host.

If you could, every JA server would be filled with Rancors/mutant Rancors.

The server is most likely his else he wouldn't need to restart the server.

Have you tried doing it in the server console? (not the shift+~ but the actual console that runs it)

You could always use the line-

seta sv_cheats 1

-in your server.cfg file...

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

well that one work work Kouen

sv_cheats is a read-only cvar and cannot be modified through the console (this includes scripts)

the only way to enable cheats is to change the map using devmap instead of map (rcon)

True, it does not work through the console or scripts. Hence why I said it needed to be added in the server.cfg file.

devmap is not a good option for an online server, as it causes the server to completely flush all information, close, and restart every time it is used, and attempting to change map without using it will disable cheats once again.

jedi_fleg did not want to have to shut off and restart the server every time cheats were enabled, so the only real option is to define sv_cheats as '1' in the server.cfg file.

erm... i dunno what you're thinking..but server.cfg IS a script.. (hence the +exec server.cfg in the server's command line...) so putting it in server.cfg or whatever script isnt gonna work, the setting is and stays readonly and cannot be changed by anything except by JA itself (by using devmap) if you want to put it in the server.cfg... change the map into devmap

thank you, very much. but can you tell me one more thing what is the default rcon pass? and how to login, thaks for your help.

the default pass is "rcon password" (note: JA does not support multi-word passwords (though some rcon clients do), so i suggest you change it) to 'log in' (you dont really log into rcon >.>)...use /rconpassword , then all /rcon commands will send along that pass
