Hello, a friend of mine has been experiancing a problem with Jedi Academy... it appears that when he enters a game, both MP and SP, he would usually freeze.... on MP, when he freezes his ping jumps to 999 then he times out.... it seams the only way he can get out of the game is by hitting the power button on his comp tower.... his comp's specs: Video Hardware: nvidia riva tnt2 model 64/model 64 pro OS: Windows XP (Service Pack 2) Ram: 384 MB processor: AMD duron processor 700 MHZ Harddrive: 37.2 GB (Free Space 17 GB)

*bump* He's tried reinstaling ja countless times...if anyone out there could lend a hand i'd really appreciate it

We were in the middle of Somthing we call a continueus rpg which we would do like chapters each night and just add to the storyline this kinda..stoped that in it's tracks

So here's the problem little more detailed...we'll be in a game for like 5 minutes everythings good...then we check the ping list and he is 999 and when he returns he claims his computer froze and he had to shut it down

He has tried the following

A clean reinstal of ja

Lowering his video to the lowest setting

Deleteing all addons to ja

please get back to me and have a nice day

It's your processor. You are asking the computer to do something it can't. I have dealt with AMD Duron computers; they are worthless (in my opinion, anyway) You can NOT ask that much from your computer - it is too slow and cannot handle something so large. Your ram is fine - but your video card is obviously questionable, and the processor is undoubtedly the problem. If the game worked before, it was a miracle. You may want to try checking for spyware, but you need a better computer to play JA. Try using an Intel Pentium 4 with HT or Dual-Core technology in combination with an ATI Radeon video card - you will not be sorry. I understand that you have your own finaces and stuff, but I am just stating fact. I mean no offense. :-/ Sorry if I hurt your feelings any.
