Hey, me again with moar gtk questions...well, a quesiton. HOW does one make flares? i've been experimenting and what i've got so far is have a square that fits the flare texture, both sides have a flare texture on it, i duplicate it 4 times so it makes a + inside of a x, so a *, with nodraw on all other sides. So far it works fine BUT its not very good looking AND it only works from horizontal views, the vertical view you see the * not the amazing glowey thingy..yay..anyways, im using gtk 1.4.0 and umm, yus i have the flare textures... Anyone got a tutorial page that isnt on rich deisal's or map-craft (i already looked) for me? or would like to tell me haow? thanks

You need to make a cube, with the flare texture on all sides. Also, it needs to be displaying the whole texture on each side, otherwise you'll only get part of the effect.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Actually, you can add a flare inside of a light so that the light shows a flare aswell.

Try putting these parameters in your light:

Key: _flareshader Value: textures/flares/flare_white.jpg

This is just a base white flare. If you want a different color you could open the Assets1.pk3 and check the flares folder.
