i recently downloaded some models and maps but when i try 2 put my npcs in the game this happens. I would suspect both of them are mod problems. The second one is an improperly packed file, so whichever mod has "ratchet_and_clank" in it needs to either be removed or edited -- the pathway to the file it listed is too long for the engine to read.

The other probably I couldn't tell you the cause of off the top of my head, though I would suspect S_FindName: empty name has something to do with it.

Clear your Base folder of everything you added yourself and test the game. If it works, start putting those files back one by one and test the game each time. If at any point game refuses to cooperate, then you found your troublemaker. Btw, that Advent Children (AC) thing is sorted before assets, so it probably doesn't work. I could be wrong, ofcourse. Just add letter Z at the beginning of it's name to fix that.

Might this have something to do with it?

- using ancient version of DirectX -- this will slow FPS

You may want to upgrade that. If you run windows xp, DirectX 9.0c is the newest one you can use.

Not likely. My JK3 has always said that and I have 9.0c just like everybody else. I think it just doesn't recognize 9.0c as more recent (since in '03 DX9 wasn't out yet).

it's not the direct x, it has something to do with the new open gl driver on the new nvidia cards and I have been to busy to see if a problem has been fixed for it !
