Hey guys, I recently tried downloading skins to my game after being bored with the generic ones we're provided with. Unfortunately, after trying to download the file to the base folder, I get an error saying: You do not have permission to save in this directory. See the admin to obtain permission. The only problem is, that I AM the admin of my comp, so I was wondering how to fix this? thanks guys!

Are you really sure that the user you are logged into is the Admin account for your computer?

On another note, you wouldn't save the download straight to your base folder. Just download the file to your desktop, then unzip the file, then the .pk3 file that comes out of this will be what you put in your base folder. ;)

If you need anymore help let me know.

Has this any thing related to Jedi Academy except the base folder?

Usually, I just open the ZIP and unzip it from there, removing the need to actually save the ZIP file. Just unzip the PK3 to the base folder, instead of saving the ZIP to the base folder.

Make sure you're not trying to save the pk3 file to the base folder on the CD. It goes in the base folder where you installed the game.

(One would think that would be obvious even to people who aren't good at this stuff...)

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Ah, thanks guys. Sorry to bother you guys again, but where exactly is the base folder where I installed the game? The base folder I'm trying to save it to is under gamedata, and I'm wondering if I was doing the right thing

On the CD?!?! You can't save files onto a CD.

Usually, you'll find the base folder under (mine anyway): C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base

You can get to 'C' using 'My Computer' or whatever you changed it to.

argh, sorry again, but I finally moved the file to the appropriate base folder, but when I try to load the game I get an error saying this: JA: v1.0.1.0 win-x86 Oct 24 2003 Initialising zone memory ..... ----- FS_Startup ----- Current search path: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\zzzAnakinEp3.pk3 (59 files) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\Epsode3AnakinFinal.pk3 (123 files) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\assets3.pk3 (16 files) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\assets2.pk3 (62 files) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\assets1.pk3 (8320 files) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData\base\assets0.pk3 (15346 files) C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy\GameData/base ---------------------- 23926 files in pk3 files execing default.cfg execing jaconfig.cfg couldn't exec autoexec.cfg ******************** ERROR: SE_Load(): Couldn't load "strings/english/menus.str"! One of the Episode III Anakin skins out there causes that problem. I suggest just deleting it and using a different one.
