For the internet, it apparently is. But I like it for TV.

this might help, Windows XP & vista take up 20% of your bandwidth for updates you can turn this off in your network settings or you can lower the amount of bandwidth it can use.

Now, how would I do this?

Er, Control Panel -> Automatic Updates? (Totally need to make a head-slap smiley.)

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Kouen;3935578That is SO not what I said!

...well, OK, maybe it is. Because satellite internet does blow. I don't think they even use it for cellphones and PDAs any more.

...plus I had a vendetta against satellite uplinks since my PDA got busted last year because of a corrupt data stream, but that's neither here nor there. >_>

But yeah, your connection is really slow and insanely overpriced. You'd be far better off upgrading to either DSL or cable broadband, pending availability in your area.

2mbps is right in the sweet spot for standard games, but if you go playing anything with like 64 players per server or MMORPGs, then you'll want to move to 8mbps.

For Jedi Academy, 2mbps broadband is fine though.

it dosent blow,it sucks!

This is what you do.. It may vary, Im running Ultimate X64 so it might be a little different for everyone.

1.from the start menu choose "run" and then type: gpedit.msc

2.This will bring up a dialouge box which will allow you to change variables in windows.

3.Under "Computer configuration" you'll see a box labeled "administrative templates". Click and open this.

4.Click on the Network box and open that folder

5.Finally click on the "QOS packet scheduler folder". This will show several settings that can be changed. You want to limit reservable bandwidth.

6. by clicking on the properties for this setting you can ebnable the feature and set the value to 0. Or if your uncomfortable setting the value to 0 you can change it ti 5,10% etc....

7.On some systems it may say this feature is not enabled, when a matter of fact it is. Now close out of the window and restart your computer and enjoy!!!

Kouen;3935590Ugh, small towns. Don't see why people like 'em so much. Everyone knows your name, there's no Blockbuster or Starbucks on every corner, and you only get 15 TV channels.
But Starbucks is overrated and I don't even watch more than the news on TV anymore. But remember, a lot of people tend to stay where they're born. It's probably not that they necessarily like where they are, but they're just too scared of the changes moving to somewhere else would bring.
Cheats! Especially since the bastards keep raining down on us. They just won't stay in orbit! :bawl:
