I downloaded a skin and put it in the gamedata\base directory, launched the game, and couldn't figure out how to access the skin. Where is it listed? (Jedi Academy)
Ok. I just figured out that adding the skins works for multiplayer. How about single player mode? Is there a way to add skins to there, other than just editing the skins that come with the game?
There are two ways to use custom skins in JA: through the single-player character creation menu, or by using the "playermodel" command in-game. The first requires a particular mod, the second requires an NPC file. http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=183327 Take a look at my tutorial in this thread to see how to make a custom skin for the character creation menu.
