Hello everyone, glad to be joining you here! I know I'm a bit late to the scene of JK3, but hey.

I am wanting some mods to look nice, but the blade of the original sabers tend to stay there, so it looks horrible! Is there any way I can get rid of that? To make the saber be replaced entirely?

Welcome to the world of JK, CPhantom! I honestly think you'll have a blast here >_> especially in the sword department.

The problem you may be sporting lies within your patch. If you downloaded a sword of some kind that still has the saber blade sticking out of it, download patch 1.01 at

Jedi Knight Academy Patch 1.01, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Others

and see if that works. If it remains visible, or if you've already patched, then it may be the mod, as opposed to your game, at which point, you have two options:

1.)Find a working version 2.)Either check:

Jedi Knight Files - Tutorial Listing

or the master sticky found on these very forums:

http://forums.filefront.com/sw-jk3-modding-editing/234876-master-sticky-read-before-posting-contains-tutorials-links-utilities.html

Both will be a helpful asset to assessing your problem, but I'm pretty sure it's the patch. However, I have not considered the alternative problem you seek. If you're looking for saber blade replacements, we have a large assortment of those on Jedi Knight 3, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads - FileFront.com. Just type in "saber" in our search box, and you'll probably find a ton of replacements.

I hope that helped. If not, lemme know what the problem is specifically, and I'll see if I can't work out your problem as best I can.

The solution to this problem is quite simple, actually. You need to open .pk3 file with Packscape or extract it`s content with WinZip or WinRAR. Then, look for ext_data/sabers folder. In there you should find .sab file. Open it with some text editor, like Notepad and look for noblade line. Check the number to the right and change it to 1 if it`s set to 0. Save the file (make sure it stays .sab) and pack everything up into a .pk3 file again. Just make sure not to use any compression level if you`re using WinZip or WinRAR. Hope this helps.
