The Creative folder is probably where the drivers for his sound card are, so naturally the game would detect and boot those to initialise the sound. The thing that caught my eye was "0 files in pk3 files". That says 'corrupted assets' to me, but rather than reinstalling the whole game he could just copy the assets directly from the CD to the base folder for speed. This copies the assets files which are installed with the game at the start and overwrites the ones in the base folder with a clean copy. The patch stuff is placed in assets3.pk3 I believe, and this isn't on the CDs so it won't overwrite. Not sure about assets2.pk3, but I think that's installed with the clean game. So, yeah, try copying the assets pk3 files from the CD into base, and see if that fixes it.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Thanks, I'll give it a try. One problem..... I can't get the assets0 because it isn't in my disk ISO and my original disk cracked.... :(

Well, you'll have to buy another copy of the game then. It retails at like $10 anyway (Ā£9.99 on Play.com for Europe :) ), so it's really not that much.

It's not the Assets... I replaced them all with the ones from the cds but it still doesn't work. And by the way, that is not the path to my sound card as I do not have a Creative sound card.

But you probably have a Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra player. Don't you? And JKA startup is referring to the directory of some Creative's software you installed and looking for "base" folder within it. But why is that so? Maybe after installing the game you moved it's catalogs somewhere else? If it makes any sense.

I left the game untouched (well, the base folder) for about a month and it just randomly happened
